I have been wondering what the range of value is for a 67 nauset? I have 67 that has been in my family since my grandfather purchaced it new, as a way for him to have fun with his grandsons. My problem is when I refere to blue book values they range $700-$900. Which is completly insane! Here's a discription of boat. Complete canvas with no rot and very limited staining. All the wood(fully varnished) is in great shape. Hull has no water intrusion, gell coat is only damaged by a few minor scratches. It was always stored in Ma.tobaco barns for the winter, and never kept in the water. It has a 01 yamaha 100 4-cycle.
I love it don't want to sell it. But I really would like some opinions.

I had purchased a Nauset a few years ago, which was not in the best of shape and paid $3000 for it. It did have a trailer and 1978 Johnson outboard. I would think your boat hull is worth $ 4000, because of it's great shape, and perhaps more to someone looking for one in original shape. Just my thoughts on the subject. Outraged

With the new motor, I would think it's worth $8500-$10,000.
That is a very big and heavy motor. How does it sit in the water?

I have a 1969 Nausett with a 1977 70 HP Johnson. It has been refinished and is in good shape - some scrathes. I don't have it for sale, but was offered $9,000 for it in Michigan last August. Turned it down without a thought.

JFM, It is a big motor, but it seems to sit fine in the water. I have compaired where it sits to other whaler hulls with motors in the 70-90 hp range. It sees to sit just a little lower. It sits maybe an inch lower that the 1967 40hp Johnson that it replaced. In seas of 5 feet or more that break in close repetition some water gets in, but no big deal. Here in Southern Cal the motor makes it a breeze(in good weather) to get to Catalina. Also when I spot some whales or dolphins on the horizon I can get there fast. When the weather is geting poor I can keep up with the big sport fishing craft on the home run.
