Actually, I'm drawing a blank right now as to whether it's a 69 or 72 (I just bought it), but the neutral switch in the control box is shot. It's been replaced once before by the previous owner. I've called around and the control box is obsolete, the switch is on long term back order and it costs $85. I can get an Envron control box to replace it with push button shifting for $125 out of Indianapolis. Does this sound like a good alternative? The motor runs great, but it won't shift into gear.

You can take the box apart and run a 3 ways witch on the dash or whatever. Make sure it is in the box and not the foot before you buy. Try E-Bay for used boxes. The switches are usually the problem.
