I recently used Allercon on my bedroom floor- said to cover aquariums so I covered the top. However, by that evening the plexiglass had tiny hairline cracks in a spray design where the Allercom touched it. This tank is actually a triangle grandfather clock- 6 ft tall with the clock on top of it. The spots can be felt with a fingernail but not with the fingertips. It has been 3 days now and they don't seem to have grown at all. Is there anything I can use to repair these? |

Try a Hammer, 16 oz should do, one swift whack and all those cracks will be gone. |

Very nice replies- thank you for your thoughtfulness. So what if it is an aquarium- plexiglass is plexiglass isn't it? I have looked everywhere for a remedy- I thought there might be someone here who would have the knowledge I needed- I was very wrong |

Plexiglass can be buffed out with rubbing compound or very fine sand paper in order to removed scratches. There are also numerous products that claim to remove scratches from plastics. I have seen Armada 210 Plus Plastic Scratch Remover in several boat stores. I know that many aquarium stores also sell 210 Plus in addition to SeaClear Scratch Remover Kits, Lifegard Scratch Removal Kits, and Novus Acrylic Polish and Scratch Remover. You are planning on putting this aquarium in your Boston Whaler for use as a bait tank, right? ;-) |

Classact, Exactly where did you mount your aquarium on your Whaler? I don't think that would afford you much room for lifejackets, coolers, anchors, tackle boxes, fishing rods etc. In all seriousness, try searching google. I'm sure you can find alot of websites devoted to aquariums. Mike |

My suggestion is to go on EBAY. Buy that Boston Whaler model for $1,000,000 Float it in your aquarium. Buy a plastic shark. Hook it up to the Whaler Model and play JAWS music. At least thats what I think..... Anyone else ... |

Check with your local airport. They use a polish and cleaner for airplane windshields that may work. Forgot the brand name. |

Well, you may get scratches in your Plexiglass windscreen. http://www.aircraftspruce.com/ is a very good source of specialty products that may have application in the marine environment, including the windscreen polish mentioned. (They have Aviation and a Car Racing catalogs). |

Thank you Barry, Mullet and Dr T for your helpful answers. Actually the website advertized that it had answers for repairing plexiglass- I did check other websites but they didn't seem to be that forthright with their resolve to help me. I'll go to the local chandlery tomorrow- thanks again |

Nice enough person and I really had to fight back the sarcasm but as soon as the postings read "potholes in my lawn" I`m really going to let `em have it. |
