I just returned from a cold couple of days in Boston. I had my 20 year high school reunion. I finally got to see my brothers 32' Grady White. The boat must be towed by an 18 wheeler with a special permit. Apparently the width is more of an issue than the weight. The GW could be towed to his house for $800. He does not have a nice level spot, so he decided to leave her at a marina for the winter for $1,000.
Now comes the kicker. He would like to have a fiberglass guy (my father recommends) come to the marina and do some cosmetic work. The marina policy is either you use our services or you must pay a percentage to the marina. You are permitted to do the work yourself.
The entire cost structure of owning a big boat seems to grow exponentially.
