In the 1980's, Outrages had an option for the Super Leaning Post/Workstation(SLP/W) seating. There were basically 3 versions of this option: 1. With Cooler, 2. With Sink and Cooler and 3. With Livewell. With prices of (1985) $1,898, $2,047 and $2,047 respectively. All three had other cost options that could be added as well. The reason I bring this up is that I don't recall seeing one in person or in Cetacea. I also don't recall alot being said of these options in any threads. Were these options so expensive that no one purchased them? As a comparison to the cost of the boat itself, these were sometimes 20% of purchase cost. Anyone have one? |

Yes, Jim, I do. Actually, I looked into ordering one of these for my 25 Outrage. It was originally designed for the 27 Center Console Cuddy, a boat with plenty of interior space to accomodate it. But, besides the pricing, in the 25 Outrage, it uses up a lot of floor space, especially when combined with the recommended Super Console. So I opted for max floor space, with the Standard console and RPS. But it is a very nice option, and still in demand by some. Most are in the 27's, a few in 25's and practically none in the 22's. |

Jim, there is I believe a 22 OR in traderonline with the leaning post/cooler option. I know this because I like the T Top on this Outrage and am using it to model a t top for my 18. I also have the leaning/cooler option on my 18. If you want pics I'll get a few. Steve |

Can you buy a super leaning post with the live well? I would like to put one on my 1988 22 outrage. |

whaler131, it is my understanding that that was the third option available. At a cost of over $2,000.00 back in 1985, and the size factors lhg points out, there may not be very many in existence. I've got a xeroxed copy of the brochure (thanks to lhg) and it's an attractive, well made feature. As far as livewell/seat combinations go, it's probably the best one I've seen. Of course, it has just the righth amount of teak to add to it's attraction. I would love to see one in person. Someone with fiberglass capabilities should look into making one, maybe in various scales to fit different models. |

etstmeb, The leaning post/cooler rig in the photo on boatrader is not what I'm referring to. The unit made by Whaler, was an all-in-one console type. Made primarily of fiberglass with some teak hatches and top surface. If I can locate a picture of one on the web, I'll give you a link. As I said, it really is unique. |

Hello Jim, My 1991 25' Outrage, cuddy, whalerdrive, has a large Whaler leaning post. It incorporates a fresh water washdown, sink/cooler, baitprep station, storage, teak top with a locking mechanism(to hold it upright)and teak door. I think its a great option! (livewell is in the floor) I've owned the boat 4 month's and love it! The original owner special ordered this boat with all or most of the options. Then added a custom hardtop from Tower power in NJ with remote spot light. The super console was customized to flush mount color fishfinder, radar, gps, loran, vhf, compass, and flo scan. Okay, I'm rambling, I looked at several 25's with the standard leaning post and found them adequate. However, when I found this whaler it just blew the rest away. The leaning post doesn't take up much more floor space than the standard post, and its uses outweigh any draw backs.... |

homey, gvisko, It sounds like you have what I was speaking of. Any way to post a picture? jimh, I think this would be a great addition to Cetacea, being that it was such an expensive, unique option. Of course, you don't enough to do already, so I thought I'd throw one more item in there! |

Jim, I plan on sending (cetecea) photos in the spring when the boat is in the water. The weather here in Maryland is cold and wet now. |

Not mine. That is a 1987 25-Outrage Whaler Drive that was for sale in California. I saw the ad a while back on YachtWorld and saved the pictures. |
