The new Suzuki 140 4-stroke weighs about 60 pounds less than my Honda 115. Now I've got motor-envy AGAIN.

Barry, a pair of those bad boys would sure sit nicely on the back of our boats. I wonder how long I be married if I tried to pull that off... I guess I'll just add thoses motors to my long list of impossible wants.

That is a nice engine. The weight is 420 or 425 lbs. for the 25-inch shaft. Compared to the weight of the Honda 115/130 at 505 lbs. for the 25-inch shaft, you save 80 lbs. per engine or 160 for the pair.

However, the displacement of the Suzuki 140 is only 124.7 cu. in. while the Honda 115/130 is 137.

Since I have Johnsons now I would of course have to get the "Johnson" version. ;-)

Saw two boat owners at the ramp the other day, each had a boat with the 140 Suzuki 4-stroke.
Both said they had bad oil leak problems but Suzuki was quick to fix.
What's the deal? Have they been recalled?
I've had good luck with small Suzuki's but had quality related problems with a 100 HP 2-stroke.

Barry, I thought the weight of the new Zuki 140 was 445lbs, but I see the news is even better. You got me even more excited about the Zuki - right up until I read frontier's post. Now I'm back to feeling content with the reliability and durability I have.

It's probably a good idea to let those new motors work through a few years of growing pains before taking the plunge anyway.

Will your boat plane on a single 150 if the other motor is tilted free of the water?

I didn't try the single engine test the one time I had it out. After I get the engines tuned up and get it back in the water I will give it a shot. I've been shopping for a set of props. Based on the rpms that I'm getting with the current SST 14-3/4"x19"s, I'm thinking about dropping down in pitch to the 14-3/4"x17"s. That should help if I load it up or have to run on one engine.

I'm watching eBay but if nothing turns up Surplus Unlimited https://www.surplusunlimited.com has Stiletto and Michigan Rapture props for about $280 each.

Biggest problem with the Suzuki 140 is the looks! I just saw a boat with two of them, and the tail "bob" looks truly ridiculous.
