TRAFFICLAWYER,Just purchased one about a month ago from Fisherman's Boat Group in Miami. I've been out only 3 times, but I'm happy with the boat / motor (twin F200 Yamahas) performance. The only complaint I have is that some of the plastic is a bit cheap and the mounting of the plastic headliner is poorly engineered. I hit over 45mph and get up to around 2mpg at 30mph. Jim |

What year is your 255 CQ? I thought they only come rigged with Merc power. |

2002 and earlier can be had with other than Merc power. The 255 was introduced in 2002. There is a dealer i houston TX with several leftover 2002 with Yamaha and Honda power, Meeks Marine. Don't know if they have a 255 though. They do have a 28 Outrage and Conquests. BillS |

My boat is an '02. Dealers were able to buy blank boats last year, but I was told not any more.J Hull |

I know Shock Boats in Newport Beach, CA sells so many Whalers with Yamaha or Honda power. Do you think some dealers with clout might be able to still order blank hulls in 2003?I was at my local Whaler dealer last weekend and saw a blank hull. Upon a closer look, it turned out to be a CPD hull in gray. I think it was an Alert. -Ivan |

Hi there, I too am a lucky owner of a 255. Mine has dual 225's and I am able to crack the 60MPH barrier. It is a fantastic boat and if my wife could get over not freaking out when we can't see land anymore I would probably be able to keep her (the boat I mean). I have her up for sale right now and might not get to run her again. It will be a sad day when she goes for me, but the start of many years of great memories for the next owner. I will be picking up a smaller whaler once this 1 goes. All in all my experience with this boat is really good. There where a few issues I had with her, but it all got worked out in the end. I had to move the battery switches and the main fuses above the static water line. Personal preference I suppose, but I thought of it as an oversight. The dealer not properly installing the plugs for the fish-box caused me to notice this flaw as soon as the batteries ran dead from pumping the water out of the bilge. Completely submerging the batteries, switches, and fuses. Once this was worked out however I have had nothing but good things to say. I have had her out in waves as big as my two story house and never felt "out of place". |

Bought a new 255 Conquest in 03 (02 model) with twin 150 Yamaha HPDI's. Great setup, cruise at 35 mph 8gph or 48 mph max. Headliner had slight crack at delivery, did'nt bother me. Upon sale in 06 new owner wanted me to replace headliner or no deal. Cost me $400 for new liner + half day of labor! Sold boat and downsized to a new 190 Montauk this April, we love the boat! |

I still have my 03 with the Yams, It's now fully pimped out and since I purchased a 5200 air conditioner to use, I'm keeping it. No point in dropping another $80k to get a Pursuit with AC. |
