Hello,I just want to wish everyone the best in the new year.I've been lurking for a while and thought I would introduce myself.
I have a "89" 25 revenge walk through with whaler drive,twin 150 hp Mercs, and a 25 hp
kicker.Bought it in "90" and ran a charter business for 8 years to pay for it.Now I just boat and fish for fun.My boat is somewhat customized as I've put on a hardtop,
lost the stairs to get on the bow and replaced them with a set of drawers for cooking/camping gear, installed a propane fireplace(dickenson) and built a custom stainless tackle station/boat rack. Its hard to describe but everything that was originally canvas and plastic is now aluminum and glass.I have digital pictures in my friends camera and he assures me he will figure out how to send them to me soon.As soon as he does I will post them.
I have made some great trips on my boat, the longest being when I loaded the wife onboard and went down the inside passage to Vancouver Island and back 3 summers ago.We spent two weeks on the boat and covered about 1000 miles.I'm in a small community on the north coast of B.C. (only whaler in town)and all my friends soon got sick of me raving about how great my boat is, so I was delighted to discover a site that was dedicated to these wonderful craft.
Thats all for now.

Brian -

Welcome aboard! Glad you decided to participate actively - I sure would love to see those pictures once your friend gets them to you - sounds interesting!

Be sure to spend some time checking out the historical threads - makes for some great reading on those cold winter evenings!

Best,

Dave

Do you really have all three engines on the transom? If so, where and how is the kicker mounted?

The kicker is mounted on a 1/2" thick stainless plate bolted vertically to the port stern of the whaler drive and is supported by a bracing rod that is bolted to the stern. The whaler drive is taller behind the well so only one brace is required, on the top port corner.I hope this describes it adequately.

welcome aboard, I am looking forward to those pictures. Also as a side note you can take pictures with a regular camera and when you get them developed have them put into digital form at the same time if your friends shots don't come out. Anyway welcome.

Bthom -

Welcome. Great boat and a great cruising area. I'm up in Juneau with a Revenge 22 WT. I've cruised the Inside Passage through BC many times in a 1,000-ton USCG buoytender, likely a bit more comfortable than a Whaler (hot/cold running water, showers, 4 hot meals per day, plenty of watchstanders), but not as FUN!

Look forward to seeing your pics. If you can't post, please send direct to my email.

Welcome. I recently aquired a 22' Revenge WT with Whaler Drive. Great boat and this is a great place to get help and info on your Revenge. Like everyone else I'm anxious to see those pictures, espically those three engines lined up on the stern. I have a 15hp kicker mounted to an L-shaped, aluminum bracket bolted to the W.D. Yours sounds like a better setup.
Regards,
Gary

What is the Revenge, the State Boat of Alaska!?

Brian - I love the idea that you go down the coast to Vancouver Island. Here is Seattle it is the dream of many boaters to 'make the trip north' going to increasingly exciting, exotic and hard to reach ports and anchorages further and further 'up'. I've got a barrel full of rolled charts dated from the '70s left me by my dad. He always wanted to go, and never got further than about Kelsey Bay, Vancouver Island. Back then, gas supply was an issue and most cruisers worthy of the trip burned diesel. Dad had gas engines, and they were really thirsty.

I guess I'd like to make the trek too, but it seems like I need a Revenge first. How is the gas supply on the BC north coast these days?

Taylor, you're right, it takes about 30 charts to run the coast of B.C.
Fuel however is not a problem. The longest uninhabited distance is from here to Klemtu, about 135 miles. After that you can get fuel at Shearwater,Sullivan Bay,and Echo Bay before you hit the north end of Vancouver Island. These I'm sure of but I've also heard you can get fuel at Namu and Hakai Pass.
It's a great trip if you ever have the opportunity.
Regards, Brian
