I was looking at some old posts here, and saw one which mentions that the old plant for 17'+ boats was in Norwell. I grew up in and still live in Norwell. I remember the old plant in Rockland (now the home depot), but I don't remember any factory in Norwell. Where was this? I can think of two places; the first is somewhere in Assinippi Park near the Rockland plant across the town line, the second is in the fitness center on 53 near the car wash. Am I close at all? Someone must now. Just curious. Thanks.ps- Would the Montauks be included in the 17+ category or the 17 and below?

waterwal,The Montauks were part of the smaller set of boats made in Rockland. The newer plant was for the Outrages and Revenges which started with the Outrage 18 but then later included the Outrage 17. Former Whaler employee and Forum participant doobee should be able to tell you exactly where the Norwell plant was. |

Whaler had two "satellite locations". If I hopped in my car right now I could probably find them again, but I haven't been to that area for many years. The plant that manufactured the larger hulls before they opened the Edgewater plant was just off route 53. It was set back from the road and rather inconspicuous. I don't remember if the other location was actually in the Assinippi park, but I had to drive through it to get there. That location was primarily used for outfitting boats for the commercial products division. |

Norwell produced 18' and up. I believe the 17 Outrage was only built in Florida. If memory serves correctly, that boat was introduced after norwell was closed. |
