We saw it online yesterday, checked it out this morning. I brought my dad's friend's dad, a former member of the Coast Gaurd (and volunteers for it now) also takes engines apart and puts them back together, with us. The boat is a 1975 17' Boston Whaler Montauk, remade to look like 2000. Attached to the transom is a 1985 Johnson 70HP outboard. And we towed it home with a 1987 trailer. It is all covered up. There is dirt inside, and several light scratches, which can be covered. The boat was in Ludlow, MASS, about an hour and a half away. It is currently sitting in my backyard all covered up. We tested for compression, but the engine is winterized and coluld not be started up....we are testing our luck. Although it is a gamble, my dad's friend told us it's on the better side. There is a 1 hour running warrantee, if anything goes wrong for the first hour.... Click on the link and then click classifieds....don't worry about searching through anything, this place has 2 things in the classifieds, a reel and this boat. Tell me what you think!:) http://www.ctriverstripers.com/

Sea, good job! that is a very nice package. I used to have the same hull with a 70hp Evinrude and it was a winning combo.. Dave |

Congratulations! She's a beauty - and the best possible choice for a first boat. You may want another boat someday, but you'll never outgrow that one. Enjoy. |

Congradulations Seamaster.I have the 1978 version of that motor on my 15 Sport and it is one great motor. It has given me 23 years of great service with minimal fuss. The real downside now is that the rest of the winter will go by real slow as you wait for a chance to get your new baby wet! |
