I want to know what you guys think the best outboard for the money is. I would have to give it to the 140 tohatsu/nissan 2 stroke or the 225 suzuki 2 stroke. What do you guys think?

I would suggest the Johnson 90 2 stroke as a candidate.

Depends on what deal you get. I can get a Suzuki 4 stroke 140 for what most would pay for the Nissan/Tohatsu.

Thanks, JB - I feel smart now. I am in the process of installing my just bought, brand-new 2002 Johnson 90 2S.

Bought at Ed's Marine Superstore: http://edsmarinesuperstore.com/johnson.htm

Affirmation! :-)

You will be very happy with your 90 2002 Johnson. Quiet, fast and economical! Enjoy!

Just curious, how much do one of these set you back, ballpark? I'm toying with the idea of repowering my 18OR, and how much would a 1988 150 Rude that runs great be worth? My primary reason for a repower would be the extended range.

t party-did you order your motor through the internet, or did you go Ed's Superstore? Anybody have experience with the newer 6o hp 2 stroke Johnsons? Any feedback is greatly appreciated. Mahalo-lc

Have not checked in few months but about $7k for the 140 plus prop, controls, etc. Your 150 if in real good shape with controls, etc would fetch maybe $2k. If you buy the Johnson 140 instead of the zuki you can use your old controls and wiring harness etc.
