Just wanted to see who here lives in the Central Florida area. I have a 2000 Mantauk and live in Winter Springs and mostly go out over near Titusville or to Sebastian or the St. Johns.

Grew up in Central Florida, Winter Park to be exact. Boy do I miss Florida. My wife and I (have a little one on the way) plan to move back, but to the Tampa Bay area. |

I live in Flagler Beach. I own a 1987 CC 15' Sportwith a 70 HP Johnson. Boat from Ponce Inlet to St. Augustine. But will trailer the boat all over FL, depending on work. Today was great boating ! |

Tampa bay area(Bradenton). Go to the rendezvous section and plan on attending our rendezvous in St Pete on the 29th of march. Last one in October had about 20 Whalers roll through from as far away as Daytona area. |

Rbyrd: I lived in Dallas for two years (Lived?)... I was really happy because I saw this huge lake on the map (Mountain Creek Lake, near Grand Prairie) Then, when I actually got there, I found out it was one crummy creek that was backed up by a dam, and the average depth was like 2 feet - I went into a state of depression... Although Lake Ray Hubbard had some nice bass..... By the way, I wasn't complaining: I was flat out bitching! This weather sucks !

skred,I have been and fished Lake Ray Hubbard. One ugly lake and that is just my opinion. I am just use to Florida Lakes. Being that I live in Texas so no Texan gets all offended, but there are allot of Texans go on about Texas. What I want to say is Florida is in my blood. When I fly in to visit my family it just feels like home. All of Florida feels this way to me. I like the Palm Trees, the palmetto bugs (nothing like your brother hitting you in the back of the head with a rotten grapefruit with several palmetto bugs inside. Whew wee that is brotherly love) the humidity feels just familiar (got to love the two a days football practice in the mornings with the high humidity. It will take your breath away). I feel the same about Florida as Texan’s feel about Texas. I am just a Florida Cracker and I will always be a Cracker.

Guy, I live in Melbourne and haunt the same waters with my 1974 Outrage. If there is enough interest, maybe we can organize a rendezvous. Al |

rbyrd,The part of Texas you are in is lovingly known as Baja Oklahoma. The Coast is down this way: palmetto bugs, rotten grapefruit and all. Starts at Louisiana and goes all the way to Mexico. Take a look. You might approve. Rick |

Wow, you guys sure make me feel lucky living here in Central Fl. I was starting to crumble that it take me 30 minutes to an hour to get to a place on the water that I love, such as St. Johns, ICW at Titusville or Sebastian.Hope to meet some of you who live in the area at some point. I love this web site:) |

I had to move my whaler today so the AC repair tech could service my home air conditioning. What a hassle !! Nah, I feel for your northerners. I know it is nice to see the season change BUT it stays cold for so long up there. It has been a cold winter this time around. Hopefully you all will will have a long indian summer ! Sweating it up in Fl , Dave |

GuyNole,You just don't know. Texas is huge! When I moved to Texas it was to Houston. This is one big spread out city. It takes approximately an hour to go from one end of Houston to the other. Nothing is close by. Although I have to say dating was great even though I do love Florida. The girls were much friendlier and down to earth compared to girls in Orlando. Not to go on I will end that it just takes forever to go see anything new while living it Texas. Three hours to see the hill country (Austin) from Dallas. Four hours to Houston and five plus to San Antonio (Remember the Alamo!). What I think really happened is the Mexican's just said the hell with it and let them have it. It is just too long of a trip to chase down those crazy Tennessee Vows. |
