Want to create a 'Whaler flotilla' to go salmon fishing out of Santa Cruz, CA? Weather and seas permitting, I'm going out Friday, April 11, leaving the harbor at about 6 am. My boat is Cruz Control (Cetacea pg 16.). Hope to see you there!

Dan, I was thinking of joining you until I checked out your boat on Cetacea...sh*t, that ain't no fishin' boat, it's a g**d*** museum piece!

Wow. Actually, I might make it down next Friday, since I'm chomping at the bit up here where the season doesn't start until the 12th, and it's a Saturday and will be crazy, I expect. If I come I won't get in the water until eight or nine at the earliest...where should I launch my 16/17?

I'll be Tony on LooLee 3, channel 9 or 77 is where I'm at up off Bodega Bay...is that good for you? I guess you can tell I've never fished out of Santa Cruz...where should I head after I launch? And your boat's name, and anything else you can think of.

Tony

Dan, I'd love to go along on 4/11, but I've got to be at work that day. I'll have to make it on the next trip. By the way, I talked with a friend that fished near Monterey today, and they had 3 limits by lunch time. It sounds like the bite is picking up.

Tony, Thanks for the compliments. You can launch at Santa Cruz Harbor. So far the bite has been moderately good at the Soquel Hole, about 7-8 miles out from the Harbor at around 36'50/122'00. Most of the radio traffic is on channel 11. Since Bodega Bay is quite a ways, if you decide to come down, call me the night before and I'll confirm the specifics.

Andy, sorry you won't be able to join us. Thanks for the info and we'll look forward to the next time.

Dan, if anyone has an extra seat on thier boat I have gas and bait money and my own gear. Plus alot of useless advice on how to catch salmon. Take a certified marine mechanic along just in case.....Steve 510-528-1516

Gentlemen,

I hope you have a fine rendezvous, but perhaps when planning the next one you will use the TRIPS and RENDEZVOUS forum.

Thank you,

Jim,
Sure. Want to move this thread over to that section?
