I had started this thread, typed it all out and thought, heck ! They don't need all the sorted details in a long-worded fluff.

Simply, can a Ford Focus tow my 67, 13 footer, 25 Evinrude and gear? I am guessing total weight with the Holesclaw trailer at right around 1000 lbs.

Thanks and take care

I towed my Sport 13' with a 1991 Probe Turbo 4 Cyl. No problems. If you have an automatic trans get an trans oil cooler.

Remember, if a auto-transmission, to pull the rig in third gear, not drive and definately not in over-drive, if installed on your pull vehicle.

I used to tow my 13 w/40 Evinrude & gear with an '81 VW Rabbit Diesel (5 spd.). The car was pretty anemic on both power and weight, but it did a great job of towing the Whaler! Ditto what Hooter said. I'm not sure if there is a trans cooler available for the Focus, but if there is, and you intend on doing alot of towing with the car, it would be money well spent to install one...

Any automobile that drives city streets better be able to tow a 13. Heck my son uses our lawn mower (18 HP Briggs) to put in and out his 13.
