Just launched the Whaler. The fuel tanks hold 310 gal. 170 in the center and two 70 gal tanks starboard and port. I do not want to run with full tanks unless running offshore. Whaler recoomends using side tanks first and then center. Anyone with any experience?

No experience, but I would agree with the recommendation. That usage plan keeps the center of gravity lower. If you were to exhaust the center tank first then, the two side tanks, your center of gravity would not only be higher, but would become either port or starbord biased as fuel is used in one of the side tanks.
