I would like to increase my usable deck space by gettin rid of my fish box. My fish box must be at least 4' wide. So I'm contemplating on mounting a bracket that is built out of aluminum and conforms to the hull thats about 4' wide, thinking that this will give me additional lift in the stern. and I can use the existing well as the fish box after fiberglassing a new top on it. So my question is , has anybody seen some one that has done this?

I did something similar with my 1987 20-REVENGE. How is that for a coincidence?

I mounted a Springfield Engineering 10-inch setback/jackplate on the transom. Actually I mounted a pair of them since I have twin engines. I rerouted all the control lines outside of the spash well.

I have plans to use the vacant splash well to hold some coolers and other storage, but not to cover it with any permanent fiberglass molded structure.

I will post some pictures and descriptions when I finally get a chance to get the boat out of storage this spring---the weather has been very cool and no reason to try to go boating yet.
