How cool would that have been to have a as kid? Wonder how many were made.

That's too expensive to be a toy. :) Ironically, my real boat is paid for, but I am still making monthly payments to Danbury Mint for my miniature Nauset.

I just got one not too long ago. The detail is incredible! The steering actually works and the motor "trims" up and down. The detail on the console is amazing. You can actually see the N on the compass.
I agree that it is too expensive to be a toy for a child. Nice to look at but too many small parts to break or choke on.
They ain't cheap either.

The price for a new one through Danbury is right at $130. Hopefully nobody pays an arm and a leg for the one through eBay.

I too have one, I love it. It is not something that I would have bought on my own but I won it in a contest so it was a nice treat. The detail is great, I was very empressed when I opened it.
