gcl	posted 06-23-2003 12:38 PM ET (US)         It's been awhile since I've owned a boat with an external gas tank & I have a question. What position do you have the vent valve in ? Do you keep it closed when at the dock and open when operating ? Other ? Thanks.
Jarhead	posted 06-23-2003 01:21 PM ET (US)             Here in Florida it gets pretty hot and a closed vent can really swell a gas tank. I used to crack the vent just a little while at rest to eliminate this problem.

Jarhead	posted 06-23-2003 03:37 PM ET (US)             gcl.. When running open the vent all the way. Just be careful not to over fill the tank as gas will slosh thru the vent.
