I just bought a 1970 Squall Dinghy which came with everything except the original sail. I thought someone here might know where I could get more info on this boat. The guy I bought it from gave me a sunfish rig but it seems kind of big for the boat..so I wanted to know what the sail dimensions where etc..I am going to try calling Whaler but I don't know
how much they will help me..

Any help would be appreciated as I know little about this
boat.

Thanks

Chris in San Diego

Chris -

I just emailed you some pics of a Squall sailing.

I've heard that a Sunfish rig can work. Depending on dimensions and the approximate size of the rig, you may have to cut down the Sunfish rig a bit. The sail may need some trimming.

Chris,

Why don't you try the BW factory. They should still have the dimensions for that sail. Then a quick and easy job for your local sailmaker.

Thanks for the info...sorry for the delay...I had a family
emergency....and didn't have a chance to check my post..
I got some info from Boston Whaler..I can get a
new sail for about $250...but I might wait..and just modifiy the sunfish sail setup...I only spent
$200 for the boat...so I might wait to see if I like it before I start putting money into it.If you have any pictures or info that you can e-mail me please send them to me at: chefbubba@metacrawler.com

thanks
Chris
