This weekend I attended a pursuit rendezvous with my father aboard his pursuit and saw a tow set up that was second to none. We were at islands marine center on Lopez Island (the local pursuit and parker dealer) and while walking the docks I saw a beautifully outfitted 3070 Pursuit with twin Yamaha 4 strokes. I was talking the manager at islands and he was telling me that the boat was sold to and owned by some a fellow who tows it behind his 110 christenson yacht. After spending two months fishing in Alaska and putting 238 hours on the 3070 it was getting a few extras added on before being towed down to Costa Rica for the winter. That should be a fun trip for the Captain and crew.

Anyways the reason that I bring this up is I remembered a post during the early part of summer where somebody was asking about doing this to an 18 outrage. I had never seen a setup that looked very pretty until this one. The dealer laughed and said when the boat came from the factory he added a thicker bow eye knowing how the boat was going to be used and that was it. He said when he saw that boat after its first trip he laughed because apparently the individual took the boat to christenson and they custom made the tow harness for him. I would try to describe this peice of work but I would not be able to do it justice.

I really don't know why I shared this but thought someone might enjoy envisioning what that setup might look like under tow.

It would be nice to have at least a vague idea of what you are talking about, PSW.

Red sky at night. . .

I took the attached photos of a 75' or so foot Bill Garden design Yacht (this one being long, narrow and and very FAST) which had a 25 or so foot catamaran "dinghy" with twin 90's on it. The dinghy was attached with a fixied pivoting HD davit which created a positive connection between the swim platform and the bow of the towed boat.

This set-up makes docking a bit simpler...
