When I purchased my 1992 13 GLS and 1986 18 Outrage Boston Whaler boats, both came with OEM Desert Tan battery boxes the same OEM tie down strap. The straps worked well to hold the lid on the box tight all season. Unfortunately, when I removed the box for winter storage I took aff the strap, and ever since I have not been able to figure out how to reattach the strap to maintain tension. It keeps loosening on its own. I've searched the site for instructions, and I was surprised there are none! |

It is like a belt buckle, The only problem is it wears out because it gets tight in the same place, may have to get a new belt. |

The OEM part was branded KevLok. Try this link to the manufacturer's catalogue. The instructions are on the second page. http://www.agmcontainer.com/catalog_pdfs/Tie%20Downs.pdf Bill |

Bill--Thank you for that pointer to the instructions. I finally learned the purpose of the K437 SAFETY PIN ASSEMBLY. My Boston Whaler battery box tie down straps have this accessory, and I did not understand what it was for. This is explained on Page-8 of the instructions! Very cool--next time I get to the boat I will correctly install the K437 devices! |

Jeez, I thought I was the only one who couldn't figure out that dang strap. Now that I know how it works, I think I'll buy another! Thank you. |
