I'm considering buying a used boat hoist for a 1983 Montauk with 20006 E Tec. The hoist is rated for 1000#.
I see in the reference section on this site the Montauk weights 950#, is this for the hull alone or with equipment and motor also?
Thanks.

A 1983 Montauk is supposed to weigh 900 pounds, not 950 pounds.

That is the weight for just the boat with all standard equipment, not including the motor, fuel, battery or optional gear.

1000 pounds of capacity will not be enough.

I think I knew the answer...but was hoping for something different. The hoist was a great deal ( but only if it works ).
Thanks for the help, Tom.
I'll keep looking.
