Interesting. Still selling to the "wealthy". We have to tighten our belts and the rich are still spending. Here is an article on how Reaganomics has finally worked for one individual. http://www.theonion.com/content/news/ reaganomics_finally_trickles_down?utm_source=yahoowidget_rss_1 |

deepwater, Hope your house is worth at least what you owe on it, many aren`t. The countries first actual recession in 1875, didn`t bother Jesse James one bit. |

THE UNITED STATES GOVERNMENT MUST FORCE THE CORPORATIONS OF OF THIS COUNTRY TO BRING BACK THE GOOD PAYING MANUFACTURING JOBS BACK HERE TO THE STATES! Yes, I WAS yelling. But until we get that good, solid, widespread, manufacturing sector, job base back, we are doomed. 1 man becomes a millionaire because 10 men are laid-off. They all need refrigerators. The millionaire buys two, so he can put one out at the Tiki Hut. The laid-off buy 0. Who suffers? The laid-off and the appliance store owner. Someone please tell me how this works, from an economic standpoint? CES, chime in. |

THE UNITED STATES GOVERNMENT MUST FORCE THE CORPORATIONS OF OF THIS COUNTRY TO BRING BACK THE GOOD PAYING MANUFACTURING JOBS BACK HERE TO THE STATES! Yes, Yes, Yes. I am tired of the BS excuses. If you sell in this country you build in this country and employ in this country or pay an import tariff. I am sick of this Global hoopla. I bought an airconditioner for my shop and it is made in China, I look high and low and all made in China. |

Bob, Yes. With some truth though. I see people here and other places go on and on about this plant closing, Brunswick, or way doesn't Whaler do that, etc., etc. Honestly turn the mirror and have a look. I recently had it turned on me by someone respected in the industry. Love for and ownership of only a classic or classic brand only goes so far in helping a brand's bottom line and the industry as a whole. |

Jeff, You are correct. BW would benefit very handsomely by having all the members here abandon their pride and joy and running down to the nearest MarineMaxx and buying a new Whaler. Somehow, I don't see that happening. Speaking of MarineMaxx, front page of the St. Pete Times business section this morning, closing down 7 stores in the Tampa Bay area. This sucks... |

We'll know we are in trouble when one of two things happen: 1. They start closing down Walmart Stores |

i have heard that some smaller companies are returning to the us because it now cheaper (and faster) to make it here than pay the shipping/fuel cost and import fees |

Where does it guarantee you me or anybody else a job, health care, a pension, and a cheap place to live in either the Constitution or the Declaration of Independence? The government of the U.S. is not in the business of taking care of any of us. It is in the revenue intake and outflow business. That's what politics is--who gets what and the what is the money "we the people" pay in taxes. If you view the U.S. Government any way else, you have clouded your vision and statement with ideology. If you want to have a government that takes care of you from birth to box, try reading the works of Marx, Mussolini, and Mao. Their respective governments also controlled the local economies and just look how they all turned out... Think global, shop local, and keep the money local. Spend where it matters to those around you locally. I personally would like to see a candidate with a PLAN that actually has some real world chance of seriously making changes to our government that help people make lifestyle changes that actually help themselves, their families, and their neighbors. There is no free lunch. Get up off that platter butt and make a difference. OK, take the Whaler for a run and then do something. |

The rise in oil and other commodity prices has increased the cost of shipping a standard container from Shanghai to Long Beach from $3000 4 years ago to over $8000. So stop complaining about high oil prices...
