My friend is very close to buying a new 190 Montauk. I have a 2003 170 Montauk which he loves but thinks he wants to go a little bigger. Does anyone know if incentives are on the horizon from Boston Whaler? If it makes a difference, we are on the East Coast in the upper Chesapeake Bay area.

If you sell the 2003 170 montalk, please post it here first. I have an 06 150 montalk that is just a little too small.

wbullwin -

The incentives are usually announced over the winter and around the Miami boat show - so think Jan/Feb. This is when the factory typically needs to help dealers move boats so they can fill the supply lines with new product. I'd talk to your dealer via phone to see what they know about - they're probably more "in the loop" than most people here, and they are more likely to give you that information over the phone - if you show in person, they want to make the sale to you right there.

The reality is that with the economy as it currently stands, they should be willing to deal with you a bit without factory incentives.

If you're REALLY looking for a deal this year, start watching Craigslist and other sites....plenty of households are evaluating their expenses right now and the wife (usually) is casting a critical eye on that Whaler in the garage as a quick way to shave some dollars out of the expense column of the household budget. There should be (and already are) some great buys out there.

This would save your buddy a LOT of money.

Are you thinking of selling yours? I'm not. I just mentioned that my friend loved it, and so do I.

I have my eye on a Outrage / Nantucket 19 if I can sell mine. It has been winterized for the season.

Wbullwin, Buckda is correct the Miami Boat Show (held in Miami Beach in Feb.) always has deals on boats and equipment, If you can make it here its a sight to see, it will take you two full days to see everything, I think there are five different locations to hold the amount of boats and equipment, Whaler will usually have boats in the water to test drive as do others. There is a Holiday Inn on 23rd st (on the ocean) five blocks from the convention hall (main part of the show, will have free buses from here to other parts of the show). Also South beach is just a couple blocks away (all the night life/bars/restaurants you can handle). Let me know maybe I can help
