Wanted to say hello. Just bought my first Whaler, a 1986 Montauk. I am in the process of pulling out the years of add-ons and cleaning it up. TSP is cleaning the teak very well and oil will finish the wood. All new cushions are here and will look great. The boat will clean up well and am excited about getting it out. It has a 86 70 HP Johnson that will be getting pulled off for a 85 Yamaha 90HP. The 90 is coming off a 86 14'4" Wahoo. The 90 was a little too much for that hull, 61 GPS. Anyway, Hello from the Galveston, Texas area. Rick

My user name reflects my age. Years ago a friend at work turned 50 and I gave him a pretty hard time about it. Even called him dusty. The Slick 50 also represents car stuff. I am an old muscle car buff, have a hopped up 4 speed 68 Firebird. Ride a Deuce too, it's a 95" ported head 6 speed go fast. This is a very informative and opinionated forum, I love it. It is loaded with fantastic info, not just Whaler stuff. I have been in boating all my life, been very scared and have asked God to get me through a number of times on the water. The people here and I have things in common! Thanks for the welcome and I hope you all don't mind my opinion on things. |
