(Already tried in Trips and Rendezvous) Looking for a place to spend one night during that week between X-Mas and New Year's. I stay in the Ft. Laud. area for the holidays and like to go down to Key West but it's a long round trip for a day. I know from experience how hard it is to find something or how expensive it can be. I'll have my 23 y.o. daughter and 16 y.o son with me. We're not afraid to rough it, but don't have room to bring camping gear on the trip with us. Any ideas or offers will be appreciated. I can trade a night in the Poconos if you're ever up this way, or I'd be willing to take any host out for a nice dinner. Thanks. Steve

Hey Steve ... I'm in the Lauderdale area and could offer a night up here, but can't help in the lower Keys. If you need a dock space while up here, you are more than welcome. Drop me a line, would like to catch you when you're down here. Steve Kelly |

This info was passed along to me from a fellow continuouswave member last year. http://keysmotel.com Very very reasonable rates. For reservations or information, please call 305-743-2244.The Sandpiper Motel 2443 Overseas Highway - MM 48.5 Marathon, Florida 33050 It's located one hour from Key West. Good luck! I wish I was going. By the way, at Bahia Honda State Park -- http://funandsun.com/parks/BahiaHonda/bahiahonda.html, about 20 minutes South of Marathon -- you can take a fun inexpensive snorkel trip. |

If you can not find anyone local to stay with, the Coconut Palm inn in Travernier just up for Islamorda is great. Very responsibly priced as well. We where there 2 years ago right at this time and I think the rooms were about $100 a night. http://www.coconutpalminn.com/ |

I'm really looking to stay in the Lower Keys or at worst the Middle Keys. Instead of staying in the Upper Keys, I'd just head back to Fort Lauderdale. |
