10 degrees in Greenville after a night of snow. Even southern whalers get cold! I know this nothing compared to you northern folks but one thing for sure it sure is beautiful for a day or two. http://cdn-2-service.phanfare.com/images/4892322_3290676_58955479_Web_3/ Image-4892322-58955479-2-Web_0_b2545700252811edb90e74517d66b832_1 http://cdn-2-service.phanfare.com/images/4892322_3290676_58955483_Web_3/ Image-4892322-58955483-2-Web_0_c2b9d6345bbf1c569e6ec244ce539b8f_1 http://cdn-2-service.phanfare.com/images/4892322_3290676_58955481_Web_3/ Image-4892322-58955481-2-Web_0_2a65084f6704a4c970ec0e01928562fd_1 Allied Health Building (College of Nursing) East Carolina Universtiy http://cdn-2-service.phanfare.com/images/4892322_3281774_58957859_Web_3/ Image-4892322-58957859-2-Web_0_2f7025cfa7061224431deb0f24890b97_1 http://cdn-2-service.phanfare.com/images/4892322_3290676_58955502_Web_3/ Image-4892322-58955502-2-Web_0_af91726995a488e17b2496d0f813ed36_1 http://cdn-2-service.phanfare.com/images/4892322_3290676_58955519_Web_3/ Image-4892322-58955519-2-Web_0_5024e46fa2f92935dfa81d967a311a26_1 Wahoo Queen in her NY City element http://cdn-2-service.phanfare.com/images/4892322_3281774_58957576_Web_3/ Image-4892322-58957576-2-Web_0_182b3e324c0efdb10ec530cb87ddbd8b_1

Ice in Florida? Is that going to affect my main beverage - Florida orange juice? |

I didn't get quite that much snow up in Durham, but this was the first 'significant' snowfall in about 4 years here. Pretty rare to get more than a dusting. |

The weather report for Richmond called for about 1/2 inch of snow but it never happened. Its interesting to hear that not-so-far-away Durham got snow. |

Two days in a row with low temps in the low 20s in Inverness, Florida. However, it beats the alternative of 0 outside Chicago! |

It sure was a beautiful day in the northeast! Although it was cold and breezy, I was happy to spend the day outside on a ladder pulling cable and hanging public address equipment on the outside of a building. The skies were crystal clear and the sun felt pretty strong for January; our thoughts were of the warmer days ahead and all 3 of us in the crew were of one mind: riding in our whaler a mile or so off the NJ beaches. The days are getting longer - we'll be there soon enough. |

Damn cold here in N.E. Florida as well. The river I live on helps keep the temp. a few degrees warmer but it was still in the low 20s. Sometime last night the heatpump condenser quit working and we all woke up to a 58 degree house. That went over like a mullet in the punch bowl. |

According to the news, if/when it gets to 32 in Florida tonight, it will be the first time since 1989 that we had three freezing night in a row. Maybe this will stimulate the atmosphere and it will rain more this spring and summer an fill my lake up, please no Hurricanes like in 2004. |

I was in Cary, NC (outside Raleigh) on business a few years ago in Jan or Feb. A very few flakes of snow started to fall, forecast called for *at most* a dusting. I went into a store to buy something. Proprietor was hastily closing up shop in the middle of the afternoon. When I asked why, she looked at me with total abject terror in her eyes, and said "DON'T YOU SEE IT'S SNOWING???".Must be worse in FL. |

We had over 16" of snow here in Western Washington State a few weeks ago. Haven't seen that much in over 15 years. We rarely get any. It's no wonder some 'real' scientists are now talking about a 'global cooling' trend.Al Gore's "Global Warming" money grabbing scam, makes Bernard Madoff's Ponzi scheme look like childs play.

Regarding the climate change issue...there is a big difference between climate and weather. Climate is much broader and deals with averages of weather in an area. Weather what is what is happening at a given moment. Just because there is a week of snow in Western Washington doesn't mean that the climate is different. Likewise, just because there is a week of 100 degree weather in Western Washington doesn't mean mean the climate is different. Climate is the trend of weather over a very long period of time so it is really impossible to say that global warming isn't happening because of a snow event or is happening by a week of high temperatures. |

20dauntless is correct. The fact is neither global warming or global cooling can be proved. The problem with the global warming scam is they are using your and my money (better known as 'tax money') to pay for phony research. All because some people believe smoooth talking, slick politicans (BOTH parties), who would be washed up otherwise. Why do they always want to throw our money around? Kind of like our new Vice President, Joe Biden, who just said, in regard to the 'ecomomic stimulus' package : "What we're trying to do is get money out the door as rapidly as you can..." |

We're about to get some 70 degree weather this weekend. I will likely be out on either Falls or Jordan lake in the Whaler on sunday. Maybe doing a little fishing, probably more riding around. If anyone wants to try and meet up let me know... |
