Hey all,

Just wondering if anyone here has dealt with Nature Coast Marine Sales in Homosassa FL. Looking at a whaler they are brokering. Just wondering about their reputation, etc.

Many thanks.

Post this on the Florida Sportsman Forum for the Big Bend area and they will give you some feed back.

I live near there and have heard nothing bad about them but I have never dealt with them.

I have 2 things to bring up here. First, my plant is right next door to them. We used to bring new Etecs over there when we had a warranty issue (yes, some are messed up right out of the box. Rare, though). Apparently, our production manager pissed them off (although he had twin 150 Etecs on his boat), and we stopped dealing with them. Who knows, maybe they pissed him off. I don't know the story. Not my business, you know?

Second, about a month and a half ago, they had every, and I mean every Yamaha lower unit stolen from all the boats out in the yard, and it's a pretty good size yard. Doesn't say much about security or site trustworthyness (don't think that's a word, but whatever). As many LUs that were stolen, the thieves had to be there for hours, and had to have had a pretty good size rig to haul them all off.

So, basically, you can take my comments for what they're worth. Do they say that they are a "bad" dealer? Probably not. But so far, you are looking at 3 strikes. Unless anyone chimes in here extolling their virtues, I'd say "they're out"!

I have been in there several times. They seem to be nice people but I have never purchased anything from them. None of my friends here have purchased anything from them either.
Sorry, wish I could have helped!

They also sell OMC parts. Last spring I went in there and asked about a starter switch for my `99 Johnson 25. They wanted an exorbitant price, and told me I need to bring my engine in for them to check it out Told me a ridiculous story that I probably had major problems with my engine. I said no thanks and left. I found another Johnson dealer a couple of miles north. He sold me a switch at about a quarter of the price. That evening someone on this forum told me how to fix my problem without a new switch. Took it back and my money was cheerfully refunded. I would stay away from that Yamaha dealer.

rich (was Binkie in a past life)
