Attention Whaler Classic 21 fans;

Here is another precious Lady to be adopted.

I like this comment on the site:

"She is so ugly that there is an underlying beauty."

Ain't that the truth. :)

Well;
I do happen to think that she is rather inviting and pretty.
I can even envision Humphrey Bogart at the wheel.
She is a very Classy Lady.

Not to start anything, but as I recall there was a huge shock value of the original banana shaped profile when it was introduced. The rub rail down by the water was the weirdest thing. Its only after the fact, at least for me, that I have come to see more beauty. Plus the the holy and teak console, the canvas whipped on to the stainless crash bar, all the really yachty stuff that makes them so cool - those things look almost archaic now.

Taylor;

I did wonder about your post;
And had your wording on your feelings;
For my preferred Whalers in the back of my mind;
For the last few days...

From what I have come to understand;
Upon being shown the 21 Ribside Outrage;
An original hull design pioneered by the wise and venerable Dick Cole;
Developed and imprinted in the real and concrete design through his own art by Dick Fisher;
And shaped further yet by the Artiste and Elder Bob Dougherty in his pragmatic and competent ways;
A well proven designer lot to be sure.

I would like for you to politely consider these facts..
What you call a rub rail position as weird was an actual "stroke of genius"
It did make the assembly of the finished product a more complicated process but the finished product was very modern stylish and absolutely "Prime" for it's time.

It all boils down to the human element for fashion really.
You either like or don't like such and such a design.
You obviously have perceived that to belittle the model style may have gotten you in hot water;
Then Why say it?
Hence your opening words.. and flip flops.
Archaic??
I have been known to get rather pissed off for way less!
If you don't like these models;
Why then do you bother calling them down?
Logically;
Why bother???
And yes;
You did intended to start something by stating that you did not wanted to do so, now...
Do not presume that you can thread on our favorite hulls and pretend that you did not do so.
Better to be thought as a fool by remaining silent then to open your mouth and remove all doubts.
Talk about being a Mister Me off as in p.. me off.
Well Raise My Rent!
In my thinking;
It is really bad manners to rag on the looks of Whalers and Ladies and this;
Not necessarily in this order Taylor.
All right enough of that.
