Gentlemen,
Between my duties at work and at home;
I came with the idea of us pulling together once again and suggesting an interesting project.
I would like to help and to be part of an effort to see a Whaler history being put together in a written Tome about the Boston Whaler Co.
The volume would involve First ;
Talking about all the Great Guys involved;
As in a short but pertinent Biography and also included a signed photo of all the people in question.
All the guys could be included.
Such as Dick,Bob, and all the way to Chuck Bennet and John Ward to mention just a few.
The volume would also go on in describing with photos the models produced and sold in a chronological manner and up to these days.
What a great way to marry the past to the present and to bring the whole family together.
I would like to help in any capacity that would be required.
How about it gang?

My,
This is a very good beginning to a fun and progressive project.
And a big thank You to Tony for having already contributed to the first installment of many;
In the first photo shared in the early hours of this work project.
I am sure;
About some of the numerous people that could be an integral part of this little project.
That it will remain rather clear;
That the enterprise at hand will not be comparable to sending a probe on Mars or Jupiter;
But nevertheless will have to amount to a good amount of research,footwork and editing.
I can see that Mr Ward among the excellent Whaler Staff of today's company may be possibly interested in volunteering some advise, materials and words as part of the newest images of the Twenty First Century Boston Whaler CO.
And that some of us from the Old School;
Present company excluded for non seniority reasons;
Would be more than happy to contribute with some very interesting and possibly unique data from our personal files.
All in all;
A very well deserved and well needed project from a group of Whaler Brand Loyalists and very well "vested interest members"
of
The Boston Whaler Owner's Group.
I am sure that Jim will be tickled pink in knowing that his sun hatted profile in now being used as my Front Desk background and that everyone here has asked "Who's the guy with the hat?"
All joking apart.
I truly think that this is a great beginning.

Rats!, I first thought that Verado Pic was one with Mr. Fisher, then I read farther down the thread, and it was our own Capt. Jim!
I guess I was sucked into that one!

Don't forget C.Raymond Hunt when compiling the list of Whaler Gods.

Jim,

I kind of liked the first one of you smiling and wearing the canvas hat.
Nothing wrong in having a picture taken in capturing "a moment".
The second one of you beside the impressive Mercury outboard could be seen as a very good PR submission;
And this from all of us having known fully well that outboards are one of your pet preferences with "boat related subjects"
I did find both photos altogether fun and relevant to the lightness of the subject.
Again a big thanks to Tony for bringing on the first one and to Jim for updating the posting with one of his favorite shot.
Everybody is entitled to a second opinion.
I will welcome your comments and Ideas on making a hard or soft cover volume featuring the Whalers of past and present;
And will gauge of your interests.
If things go right;
I can very well envision that each and everyone of us would want to possess such a publication.
I am actually speaking about a certain related background in the fact that on a very related field of mine;
About some ten years ago,I did purchase the "Complete Guide to Ragdolls" a published hard copy volume relating to the Feline Ragdoll Breed.
This published work from England about the breed was very well put together and pertinent.
This writ was very well researched in countless facts and history about this special feline.
It is true that a decade ago;
That my ordered copy was originally purchased for $75 US;
And this being a very limited print;
The last time that I saw this "Collector's item" being sold;
It was auctioned off for nor than $650 US.
Beside profit, I am seeing a true collectible item in the making here.
Hence my proposal and suggestion.
Could you imagine the demand for some of these autographed copies ?
It can be done and I would buy Two.

Thanks for your last comment, Ritz. I took the photo you're referring to, not the goofy one with that ridiculously over-sized motor that Jim seems to prefer (since he replaced my fine effort with that photo, much to my chagrin).

Let's see if Jim likes this one any better:

The accompanying cast? The two foxy ladies are Jim's wife and her sister. The young guy is Jim's kid, Jeff, who is really the computer brains behind this operation, and a proud NorCal resident. Oh yeah, the sinister fellow in the goofy hat? He's my boat partner Matt/placerville, and a fine lad he is to be sure...when he's not knocking big halibut off my line with the gaff ;-)

Can't forget the boat--Strike3 II banana Revenge 19, now gone but not forgotten.
