Hi all. I need to move my bimini back about a foot to allow for rods and antenna and was wondering about the wood placement for drilling new holes on top of the gunwhale.

1965 Montauk style

Thanks!

Don't know if there is any wood on gunwales. I would get a slider so you can move it where you want whenever you want...about $30.

Great idea, but I still need to secure the slider to the gunwhale.

If you want a wood placement diagram for a Boston Whaler classic 17-foot hull, it is available in the REFERENCE section, in the REFERENCE article about the 17-foot hull.

So did mine on my 1986 Montauk. There is no wood in the gunwhales, that was added later. I'd also use some really good 3M Auto Trim adhesive tape, in addition to the screws, under the full length of the slider to spread the load.
