With the prospect of 15% ethanol in gas I found two large local marinas that sell non-ethanol gas and will fill my 5 gallon jerry cans for ground transport. They are The Harborage and Tierra Verde Marina. I realize this is only helpful for the St. Petersburg area but maybe it will help:-)

All the Marinas on the Manatee and ICW south of you are non-ethanol as well. $3/gal with Boat US discount yesterday, not bad.

If you wish to decrease the prospect for gasoline to be diluted with 50-percent more ethanol than it already contains, contact your congressional representative and your senator. If you do not take political action then the self-interests of the ethanol lobby will prevail.

That is in another thread as well with a link to the petition. Let's not hijack this thread though.

What do you need to get a Boat US discount? I worry more about running ethanol laced fuel in my 40-50 year old outboards that in my new 4 stroke. What about aviation fuel. I read somewhere about not using it in boats, something about additives for high altitude or something to that effect.

And I was pissed about $2.75/gal!

Nick can you think of any marinas in our area that the pumps are located close enough to pavement to pull a trailered boat with an internal tank (my Outrage) up to and get an ethanol free fillup. I was at the Twin Dolphin the other night for dinner and it looked like it may be do-able there. Any others? I know I can launch, fillup, and retrieve but that's a lot of extra work. I usually put in at 59th or Kingfish ramps and there isn't anything near them.

There is one next to Sara Bay amarina down 41 towards the airport. I think it is a Texaco that is right on a creek but accessible by 41 as well. not sure if ethanol free though.

I did the political response through the NMMA website.

I don't care how much a gallon it costs. Anything is cheaper than seeing my old 30 year old looper destroyed:-(

Jeff,
You can get next to the pump at Annie's bait and tackle.

Thanks Len I forgot about Annie's. Nick I'll look tomorrow I'm going down that way. When I put the Outrage on the hard all gas was ethanol free so my motors have seen none of it and I'd like to avoid it as much as I can. Hpoe to be back up in a week or so.
