Remote controls do not come standard with an outboard. They are chosen by either the boatbuilder or the rigger to be installed in a boat. There are several makers of control boxes besides the motor manufacturer's products so you have to determine what brand is in your boat. To see an Evinrude control box to to www.evinrude.com |

The side mount controls are probably shown in the BRP Evinrude catalogue. |

seahorse, jmh I am lookking for a replacement O/B for my New Zealand built CSB Huntsman Crusader. Have eye on 175HP e-tec. Dealer in Hong Kong says side control comes as standard package. He has now sent me a picture of it. I have taken liberty to send it onto your email. Thanks. |

OK, outside the USA engines are shipped with different configurations and accessories depending on which country. All service and sales are handle through Bombardier International Division. The picture you have is the surface mount control box. Side mount controls are commonly reffered to as those that have only the shift-throttle lever coming out of the side panel and the mechanism hidden between the panel and inner hull wall. |

Ya'll, Always considered what Yamaha, Honda and other rigging manuals refer to as a "side-mount control box" a side control or surface mount control box. If it's just a lever sticking out they both refer to it as flush mount control. |
