Is there a certain model designation I need to look for when buying a Baystar Hydraulic steering kit. Also, is the 18 foot hose length what I'm looking for ?

Our (original layout) 1985 Boston Whaler 18 Outrage is powered by a 2007 115 E-Tec

Thanks for any help in advance.

This is a good topic for REPAIRS/MODS.

I just installed a Sea Star kit on my SL16. I followed the instructions/guidelines in the installation manual very carefully to determine which kit would fit my motor - you can download the manual from the Teleflex website.

With regard to the hoses, I used 18' hoses on my SL16 - I could have got away with 17'. So measure the run of the hoses very carefully and allow for the hoses to make the curve in front of the motor, etc. I routed a piece of anchor rope where the hoses would run, then marked and measured those.

You may need various additional small parts kits depending on your motor.
