Note that Del Monte is a 35MPH zone there. 87 in a 35??

Adm. Linda and I were at the dive shop a half block past
getting our tanks filled and heard some pops. When we pulled
out we saw all the police activity and thought there had been
a shooting at the roller rink another quarter block down.

Today, I dropped in at the dive shop here in Morgan Hill to get
Sunday's tanks filled, and the owner's daughter was there.
Turns out she manages that West Marine, and the Herald article
is pretty accurate. But the "retaining wall" is a couple of
feet high. She popped all four tires (the pops we heard),
and broke the rotors. And the SUV is ALL the way into the
store. Check the second picture.

The employee who was slightly injured is the son of another
friend of mine (who runs one of the Monterey commercial dive
boats).

She must have been protesting their prices.

The stories on the left column in the Monterey Herald suggest that only the worst events in the community are fit for print, or generate enough interest to sell papers...

I wonder if any damaged items will be put on clearance. There could be a happy story in all this!

A car went through the front windows of the West Marine Store in Minnetonka MN last spring or the spring before, I can’t remember for sure.

Is it a conspiracy?

That left column is the "most viewed". Blame the readers,
not the paper.

In South Florida, it is customary to wait until after dark to run your stolen vehicle through the front of the store, before you grab a few things and make a break for it...

As a "West Marine" employee I must concede that we still have a few bugs to work out with our new DRIVE THROUGH customer service feature.

If customers would just slow down to 15 mph we could strap a new Kayak to their roof and send them happily on their way!

Our Southern California WM stores don't have the "lobby" referenced in this article.

You northerners are so, so....genteel!

That could have been a lot uglier. I'm glad no one was seriously injured, or worse.
