I let a buddy borrow my 15 for the last several months. Ran her for the first time since 2008 today. I forgot how much I love that boat. I have an Outrage 21 as well, but the 15 Sport is so much fun to run. Handles the chop like a big boat and makes you feel like you are on a speed ride at the fair when running wide open. Took some pics from a great day in Charleston. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v672/dnh2/sport/IMG00233.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v672/dnh2/sport/IMG00234.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v672/dnh2/sport/IMG00235.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v672/dnh2/sport/IMG00236.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v672/dnh2/sport/IMG00237.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v672/dnh2/sport/IMG00238.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v672/dnh2/sport/IMG00239.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v672/dnh2/sport/IMG00281.jpg |

It doesn't get much better than that - a very nice Classic 15 with a Yamaha 60 4-stroke. Perfect combination. |

Great post! Nice whaler, she may be old but she looks NICE! I've never seen a stern light on top of an outboard before. Good idea. |

Here's a similar shot of my 15 Sport center console, but with her bow shoved up against the bank of the Petaluma River (the northernmost reach of the San Francisco Bay): http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b309/elaelap/ MorePetalumaRiverbirds070.jpg What was poor 'Cetus' doing there getting her cute bottom all muddy, you ask. Stalking the not-so-elusive Great White Egret, [i]Ardea alba[i]: Love that little boat! Tony |

Thanks for sharing the photos. IMO the 15 was the nicest open style boat Whaler built. Fast, stable easy to tow with the family car and sized right to fit in the garage when not being used. Yours looks great! |

I'm taking my 15' Striper to the NC coast this weekend, for a week. I can't wait to take some photos like this! |

IMHO, the best boat ever created (BTW, I also own/have owned a 31' Wilbur (downeast), 33' JC (downeast), a 13' Whaler, and several JBoats ranging from 24' - 447'). |

and this is the why I gots three of `em... Mischief, Center Console and an Alert hull in the GLS II configuration. Still working on the `78 Revenge, which I dropped on to the drive way off the blocks this weekend trying to put onto the trailer. Lucky to only have a thumbnail chip in the gel coat on one of the large outboard chines, fixed bigger during bottom paint removal and bottom restore to wax only. |

That's it. Unless its brutally raining outside tomorrow when I get home from work. I'm taking the 15_Sport out, with or without the wife... |

dnh, some very nice pics. of your 15. Are you still using a Pate tank without any problems? That would be amazing to me. My 2005 F60 mechanic scolded me in 2006, and again in 2007, finding resin on my injectors. In 2008, after mounting a Racor, he claims he was still finding it so I had the 19 gallon custom tank built. 2009 I did not have it serviced. My (2004, don't ask!) tach does not tally engine hours so I (over)estimate at 100/year. 2009 I don't think I've got 30 hours. Approximately 130 hours on water pump and I believe its time. Going to PAY the dealer again for the wp, injectors and 400 hour major service. From the pics. it appears you have the 15 gallon and have the seat raised to the top of the risers. The beauty of this custom tank is I had 'feet' welded to the bottom of the tank the same width and length of the dimensions of the Pate. Inotherwords, remove the Pate, turn upside down, trace the bottom to exact location of mounting holes, then transfer to bottom of 'feet' of the aluminum tank. Allows use of original holes in the floor. I added half inch Star Board between 'feet' and deck for washing through. Fresh 5200 on threads of now longer SS wood screws with finish washers and your complete. I still have the second 19 gallon aluminum fuel tank and a lot of pics., if you're interested. zotcha. |
