South Florida is probably one of the few places that you have to wear sunglasses while [it is] raining cause the sun is out. Speaking of rain, I heard you guys up the Atlanta way got a couple of sprinkles. Did your lakes get filled back up?

North Florida too. I was at Home depot about a month ago and it literally rained only over the Home Depot. Sunshine all around.

Contender-Lake Lanier has gained over 3 feet in the last 3-4 days. I live in Lawrenceville, one of the areas reported to have received 15-18 inches over the last week. My rain guage says we received 14.74 inches, 9 of which came down over the weekend. One morning this weekend between 5:15 and 6:30 am (I was getting ready for work) the rain guage steadily rose 2 inches. I spoke with Jerry (Nauti Tauk) who went for a ride in his Whaler yesterday. He said the lake had lots of debris, floating trees, etc...
As far as damage goes, our home was unscathed, however lots of folks in the area have had some really bad flood damage, and a few have died. Definitely a mixed bag of "good and bad". -k

OK, Lake Lanier gang, be careful what you wish for. Looks like your wishes from last year have been granted : )

1068.32 right now and it is raining very hard in the Cleveland mountains, about 15 miles from the lake. 1071.00 is full pool and I think we're gonna see it. Suppose to fish with Kevin on Monday so I hope it quits by then. Leaves have started to turn and it's getting a little cooler. Pretty but wet!

I noted that on the weather Channel, they now are referring to SE Tennessee and north Central georgia as the nation's "Rain Bucket".
