And since that the rain fall quantities being of biblical proportions lately have kept me working indoors on the teaks to be refreshed;
The downpour viewed by some to be a bit excessive may have just about floated my Whaler being at rest and in dry docks
I thought that it may very well be grand time to have displayed a shot of optimistic and timely tunes.
And for all of you who were waiting for it;
Here it is.
http://www.kovideo.net/music/video/John-Mayer---Say/2479.html
A word of warning though..
It is a hard tune to get out of your head once you have tuned it in.
Hence of my posting this morning.
Enjoy.

Cool song, I like your taste in music. I saw the movie but don`t remember the song.

I usually am whistling John Philip Sousa's THE WASHINGTON POST (march) when I am working on my Boston Whaler boat. I would link to a recording of that song, but what's the point? Everyone knows the tune of THE WASHINGTON POST (march), don't they? It's got a Wikipedia page for heaven's sake:

Yes,
The idea here will be to be remembered before this year's end by the preferred music plated while you were doing work on your Whaler or altogether listening to while on your favorite cruises.
It is also true that while serious fishing;
I will have nothing but the four cycle purr of the kicker and the splashes on the hull.
But while running:
I will have some preferred tunes.
The intro will be seen as a sharing in the year's boating preferred sounds.
What ever they may be.
I will ante up again

One of my favorites.

Sorry for the typo here.
That will be played and NOT plated.

This is really not a problem here;
We are people of all styles, but will share a lot of things in common.
One of the least to be our favorite Whalers.
And other things of course.

Not long hair,just unkept as a bachelor was back then.
One of the first thing that my wife to be did in true life was to get one of her hairstylist friend to make it more "respectable";
And this was before getting married a few months later.
The onus was on the Pontiacs.77 and 78 respectively.

Here is a great song to hum from the 60`s, sound track of Billy Jack. Unfortunately still as relevant today under our new president as it was under the last one. Bummer

A lot of times during the off boating season, I work on my whaler on Sundays. My favorite part of any game.

This one seems perfect for me right now, with our partnership Revenge 21 prototype hauled for the winter and having sold my personal BW--a classic Sport 15 CC--a couple of weeks ago:

Man oh man--without a Whaler for the first time in I-don't-know-how-many years. Time to take "The Pleasures of the Harbor," I guess. Enjoy this beautiful song.

Tony,

Wow - Phil Ochs! I didn't think anyone knew of him. I used to have the LP that Pleasures of the Harbor is on but it somehow vanished over the years. Man, that was a long time ago, thanks for bringing back memories!

Yeah, that's from his album of the same name, Ron, released way back in 1967 when he was only 26 yrs-old. I remember him singing for the folks at UC Berkeley in the early-mid '60s, and my wife met him down in L.A. a decade later. You probably know that he hanged himself at age 35, a tragic loss. Glad it brought back some memories.

And on lighter note.
This is actually very much a daily fare for me here.

There is a good possibility that most of you will be familiar with this fever.
PS- Mind you, not quite as much as Whaler fever but very close.

Is the fighting that goes on during a hockey game scripted to make the game more interesting to the fans? If not why is it allowed. If it happens on other sports it is quickly squelched, and penalties attached or players are ejected. I think ice dancing is more exciting than hockey.

Hockey is a much different game today then it was even just 5 or so years ago, much less in the 60's or 70's when Ritzy's video was shot. There is no longer an emphasis on fighting, and it has become far less frequent of late. In fact, I don't remember the last good hockey fight I saw. The emphasis has moved to speeding up play and more offensive production. Several rule changes (icing, off-sides) have helped make this happen, and made hockey a much more enjoyable sport to watch, especially in person.

Listen to the crowd Binks.

I prefer hockey (the most exciting sport ever!!!) the way it was. Fighting was part of the game because teams had to "protect" their skill players from being abused by the oppositions "checkers". You could take a cheap shot at Guy Lafleur but you knew before hand you were going to have to answer for it.

Now you can take the cheap shot behind the play so the official doesn't see it and anyone who challenges you for taking that cheap shot will put his team in a hole for being an "instigator".

A lot more punkish behavior in the new NHL.

Note the link is to a brawl between the Bruins of BOSTON and the WHALERS of Hartford.

Anyone remember Roller Derby. Cheap shots were the norm, especially in the women`s division. Fun to watch though.

Professional wrastling, totally scripted, but also fun to watch.
