I'm considering adding a T-Top to my 2007 Dauntless 180. However I'm wondering if this will add or subtract from the resale value of the boat. The T-Top I believe is one of the best after markets you can have. Looking for opinions good and bad. See link

The reason for the folding top is two fold. First, it will be able to fit in a garage. Second, I currently keep the boat in indoor rack storage. Right now I have 12 inches of clearance above the console grab bar. If I were to add a non folding T-Top I would be forced to move to another rack and pay another $550.00 per year.

Thanks

Anyone? They have a sale until the end of the year

I think it looks great. One of the selling points of my Conquest was the fact that it had the hardtop. I like having something over my head in the event of a squall or blazing sun.

I personally would make sure it was tied into my bonding system after I installed it, but that is still controversial.

By the way it looks like you have until the end of the day today but I’m sure you know that.

Thanks Joe

I was in contact with them last week and it looks like they would be extending the sale. I'm a little paranoid to buy one because I've never seen one in person.

I too have a Dauntless 180 (older) and an interest in one of these. My question is where to run the wiring from the console
to the top that looks decent?

Good question and another reason I'd like to see one in person. I've contacted a dealer in NJ and DE who carry them, or should I say sell them. They don't keep them in stock.

I guess you can run the wiring inside the tubing down to one of the standoffs and through the console.

I figured it'd be difficult to run the wires through the vertical tubes due to the bolts that hold the upper part to the lower part, maybe not. They had a sale prior to the $999.00 sale that was for full price BUT included a ~$350 electronics box, my guess is they'll bring this one back.
Have you checked out the FISHMASTER T-Top? I can't tell much about the quality of the top but they have an awesome spokesperson.

I have seen the Fishmaster online. Nice top but it does not "look" as robust as the Stryker. I guess at this point I'll wait until the AC boat show in Feb. Maybe they'll have one of each there

Sale back on for a while.

Read on another site the Strykers (as some Mercurys) are made in China but the sale price seems to be right and that wouldn't stop me. Wiring could easily run in a loom or look at how Fishmaster recommends in their manual.

Seems very robust. Side note.. the "new" Dauntless in the companies video is not a Mercury powered boat...

The Fishmaster sounds like it might be a real possibility. I've been in contact with a guy from NC who believe or not has one on the same boat as I have. He loves it and will be sending me some photos of it soon.

I like the idea of the power coated white finish offered also

I looked at a 1998 Dauntless with Fismaster T-Top..very, very nice boat and great looking top. The boat was just a little to big (in width) to fit in my garage. Here is a picture, sorry the cover was on the boat.
