I finally replaced my Pate 15 gallon tank with a 19 gallon custom aluminum tank I got from CW member zotcha.

I have just concluded that I cannot see through aluminum. I also have run out of gas enough growing up in the boat that I do not want to do it in the future.

Tank is roughly same dimensions as Pate. In short, its a shallow, wide tank. Because it is above deck, I could see a guage that was mounted directly on the tank, and I would prefer that to a sender that requires power, etc.

Anyone have any recommendations? I can simply drill into the top of the tank and install from there, or get a new cap that allows this, etc.

I would prefer to do this before I fill the tank with gas so that it does not explode and kill me if I drill into it.

Thanks.

Moeller, Tempo, Rodchester all make manual sending units. Around 40-60 dollars. Do a goggle under Gas sending units. They also make electric ones but then you have to run a wire and also ground the tank. I would go with a manual one, easy and will always work. ..good luck

Thanks. I did a goggle but still got gas in my other eye.
