Anyone going from the Northeast to the Gulf Coast of Florida? I hav a 16 footer that I need to have towed down to Port Charlotte, FL from NJ. No rush it just needs to get there by April 1st. If anyone is interested in making some $$ let me know,or else when the date gets closer I'll use Uship. - Thanks, Joe

Ridge, I'm coming up to NYC on Apr. 7th and returning the 10th. Is this too late?

My only concern would be the trailer condition. Difficult to calculate the time and cost of an axle/hub/bearing replacement en route.

Send me an email if you're interested. Thanks. Michael.

Wow! I've never been that far south on the west coast. How many miles is it one way door to door? I'd be stopping home in HHI, SC. Looks like not much past half way.?. Standing by. Oh. And Happy New Year!

Door to door is just over 1,200 miles. I drove it straight about 3 years ago took me about 22 hours. The trailer is a 1990 COX and it is in great shape, new LED lights, coupler, winch, rims and tires, hubs. It also has a spare. The boat and trailer have only been in freshwater. I’m coming down on April 1st, if a member would be interested in going down a week or so earlier, you would be more then welcome to use the house for a couple of days or a week (of course at no charge). I rent it out sometimes during the year and it is managed by a property management company.

Here is a link to some pictures of the house: http://www.portcharlotteflorida.com/Gulfspray.html

Is that near Aberdeen? Do you know Martin Broduer? J/K. Spent the first 26 years of my life in Holmdel. Send an email if you want to talk. Michael.

Nick, Rich and Len, Happy New Year. Hate to admit it but ran down there Tues. 12-15 and back Fri. 12-18 for two days of shallow water grouper fishing. Had a keeper hit me but being out of practice it rocked me before I knew what happened. Three spots first day and a couple the second day, after the rain cleared. We drove from Hernando Beach to Bluffton in pouring rain which turned out to be the 18-24" Nor'easter later that weekend. Met a guy named Bill up in Homasossa from Long Island who will be my reel repair expert forever. Subsequently, giving serious consideration to the April 3 rendevous vs. the Waccamaw to Charleston run same month. Really liked it there. Just over six hours and right through Brooksville. Thanks for the help. Maybe a run home and help out a member. Be well. Michael.

Joe,
I may be able to do the tow for you a bit earlier. I'll be heading down from NJ to ST. Augustine in early February. My wife probably would enjoy a stay at your place in return. I sent you a message. Brian

I send you a note earlier today. I'll be traveling to Marco Island the first of March. Live across the state from you.

Boat made it to Port Charlotte. No problems. We left Jersey just hours before the lager part of the winter storm hit. Parked boat in garage.

House is great! Thank you

The lager part of the storm--that's the part where you drink all the beer, right?

Nick,
It was great meeting you. I'm glad you missed the storm we got about 18" of more snow here in Matawan. Did you drive straight down? Seems you made good time. Did you have to move the car? or did your wife’s expert trailing skills just back the boat in? Enjoy the house and have a great time on Marco Island. Maybe we can get out fishing sometime. – Joe BTW..Landshark is the drink of choice when in hanging out on the dock or fishing the Boca Grande pass. :)
