Is Boston Whaler still making heavy duty hulls [for sale to commercial or government buyers]? Or is Everglades now the sole producer? [Based on] http://www.evergladesboats.com/pdf/newsletter.pdf

I do not think it reasonable to make the inference that because Everglades began in May 2009 to sell boats to the government or to commercial users that this forced Boston Whaler to stop.

Boston Whaler Commercial and Government Products has become Brunswick Commercial and Government Products:

http://www.brunswickcgp.com/

They produce commercial grade versions of models from several Brunswick owned boat companies, including Boston Whaler.

There are hundreds of boat manufactures that produce heavy duty hulls for commercial and government service.

Brunswick just ran a full-page ad in National Defense Magazine, prominently featuring what appears to be special ops Guardians, an Impact, and a go-fast that I didn't particularly recognize. The magazine is at http://www.nationaldefensemagazine.org , but at a glance it doesn't seem to have a full online version with ads.

I believe Gladding Hearn (www.gladding-hearn.com) have the Whaler Defiant 30-foot and 36-foot specifications and had once built some of them under contract. Gladding-Hearn will build a new boat to specifications, but for what price? I was quoted $270,000 a few years ago for a 30-footer and that was just the hull! No motors, electronics, furnishing, fittings etc. Look at the Patrol Boats
