The lawyer for the accused is a big gun who represents very high profile cases. I am sad to say he is a classmate of mine way way back.

I remember when this tragedy happened. Have the authorities ever determine what the captain of the larger boat was "high" on?

He obviously knew he was in trouble. I remember it took a few days to find the boat because he had stashed it in his fathers garage???

He took the boat out of the water and lawyered up before turning over the boat....he said he was not aware of the search. I live on the Metedeconk and everyone around knew of the search. The area was being buzzed by police helicopters searching the day after. He claims he hit something and his first reaction was to get the boat home before he sank. BTW the map that the APP reports shows his tracks leaving Beaver Dam not the Point Canal even knowing the channeldoes come across the entry to Beaver Dam...but not that far up. I actualy thought they were coming from the Mantoloking channel by the Gunners' Ditch.

I don't think the authorities determined he was high. They are saying he operated his boat recklessly.

If I remember correctly, they had evidence that he had been drinking in a bar for several hours prior to the crash.

I am not sure why his wealthy father was not charged as an accessory. Dad helped him wash the boat down and stashed it in Dad's garage, where it was not previously stored.

I have never hit anything harder than a rock with my prop. I do limited night boating. That said, I am pretty sure that I would know the difference between hitting a log (are there many in that area?) and striking a boat full of people screaming. He ran over the bow of the boat. He did not stop to render aid.

I hope, after examining the evidence, if the above is found to be true, that they throw the book at him. Hard.

Hey Lizzie,

How come you are ignoring the question asked of you in the other thread?

LOL
