I am interested in finding a nice leaning post for my 1987 Outrage 18. I am looking for photos of one you may have on your rig, with an overview of why you selected the particular post. I am really interested in knowing the manufacturer. I plan to buy one new and have not found one to my liking. That said, if you are looking to sell one used and have photos, I would be interested as well. My hopes are to find one that compliments the era and design of this Whaler. I am open to models that incorporate a bait tank. I have no particular preference to aluminum or stainless; the boat will be used exclusively in saltwater. Any recommendations to preferred materials for this application are appreciated. |

There is a very nice original one for sale on Craigslist in Charleston, SC. If I had an 18' Outrage, I would be all over it. Here's the link: http://charleston.craigslist.org/boa/1595527126.html Hope this helps, if nothing else it get's a good look at one option. Tom |

That is pretty much what I am looking for. Thanks. Jeff, are you looking for leaning posts for 18 Outrages for any particular reason (hint hint)? |

Nope. No 18 Outrage likely in my future. With a family now I need a cabin. I am holding out for Revenge Walk Through (dreaming of an offshore 27 also). Really I just spend a couple hours a day most days of the week online looking for Whalers, Whaler parts and anything else that I "could" need. It really is a sickness and if I actually had money it would be very dangerous.

That lean post in craigslist had a bid for $650 but did not make the reserve; it's still available. I followed this particular sale only because it's a lean post that came off the boat that I sold. I can give the owner your eMail address; let me know. It's a great leanpost. I had the upholstery by Hall's Nautical in the original fabric; had the foam replaced, too. |

MyOutrage- do you know what size cooler that is under that leaning post? I would love to know the dimensions. I am sure that shipping that from NY to CA would be a significant expense. Please feel free to provide the seller my email address: gila.hernandez@yahoo.com Thank you. |

Can you or have you tried to have one made locally? |

Don't recall the size of the cooler but I did purchase at Costco, if that helps. If my memory serves me the width of the fabric part of the leanpost is just slightly less then three feet. |

Lizard: Here me on this one, dont try to fit a leaning post to your boat, make the leaning post fit your boat, and to your needs and likes you will be much happier... |

Birdsall Marine Design www.birdsallmarine.com I bought one for my Outrage 22 a number of years ago and I have been happy with it every time I get in the boat. I believe they can do gelcoat in Boston Whaler desert sand, and the upholstery to match Boston Whaler OEM upholstery. A standard cooler fits under mine, I have a grab bar and rocket launchers across the back, a large "tub" under the hinged seat for storage, a fold-up footrest and stowable back rest. |
