The first week in April my bride and I are planning some R&R in the Watts Bar Lake area between Knoxville and Chatanooga. We are investigating some potental retirement areas. The boating season, access to 1000's of miles of navigable waters, lower income and property taxes are the draw.

We spent a very enjoyable week on Watts Bar Lake on vacation in 2006. We went there in the last week of September. There was very little traffic on the lake at that time of year.
There is a very nice public boat launching ramp just upstream of the Watts Bar Dam on the eastern shore.
