Im from Wa, few months ago, i purchased this slightly used trailer from moving sale ( on my neighborhood), i did not know at the time that the trailer does not have a vin #, the state partol required to have the trailer weight, then they put the vin on the trailer and issued a receipt of inspection, i went to DOL and have it registered, i then issued a registration under our name and new licensed plate, but i was told that the title will not be available for 3 yrs. I was issued a bill of sale of the person where i bought the trailer, (but i guess does not mean nothing). Can i sell the trailer with only registration from the state? any info will help and appreciated.

I would get that kind of info from the horses mouth and I would ask why the 3 year wait |

You bought the trailer and were able to register it and get a plate, and presumably the person you'd sell to would have the same experience. I am not sure why you think having a title is necessary to sell your trailer. If you are concerned with an out of state sale, most other states seem to accept previous registration in lieu of an actual title. Different states differnt laws, two of my traileres have titles one does not. But I guarantee it... from now on every trailer will have one to make money for the state... |
