This is an actual photo I took on April 30, 2010. It was about 5 PM in the evening. The picture was taken on the Atlantic Intercoastal Waterway just a short distance from the Socastee Swing Bridge (Myrtle Beach). This is not an altered picture or trick of any sort.

You can make your own story to go with the picture.

Ron--Thanks for the picture. Not unusual. We see this in Michigan at our boat launching ramps all the time. The DNR often uses them early in the season to break the ice.

Well, you said, "Make up your own story..."

I sent the picture into the local TV station and they broadcast it. In the later edition of the news they broadcast it again and said there was apparently an elephant trainer that lives in the area. Either they did some investigation or a viewer called in with that information.

Ron, I guess I have more to look out for on the ICW than large rocks at low tide. Great picture, still want to get with you for a ride down the Waccamaw. Tom

Its a small world. I was boating through that exact area last Friday. I put in at the Rt. 544 public ramp. However, I didn't see the elephant.

They have all kind of crazy shows in Myrtle Beach. It is like mini redneck Vegas. This has got to be from an animal trainer. I have lived in this area all of my life and never seen an elephant.

The true story...
Rob Dyrdek, a professional skateboarder, was doing a photo shoot in Myrtle Beach while out there on vacation with his parents. The whole thing can be seen on his show, 'Fantasy Factory' on MTV.
Still pretty neat to see an Elephant swimming around the waterway....
