Man, I hate to do it to myself again, and what sh#t I caught about my comments regarding this otherwise beautiful Menemsha for sale a year or so ago on our Marketplace forum, but still, IMO as ugly as it gets to do something like this to a classic BW: http://continuouswave.com/ubb/Forum2/HTML/018377.html Tony |

JMartin, The boat maybe. I am sure it is quite functional. It was the custom console. I could see this boat having a pop up clothes line, a portable BBQ grill made out of a cut off beer keg and rod holders made from duct tape wrapped around paper towel tubes. I might be extra sensitive since I was at Nautical Lumber on Saturday and saw all that beautiful woodwork. Maybe that copper thing is a tarp support and not an outdoor shower or a gaff for really big fish. My apologies to anyone I may have offended - no insult meant. |

When I see a Menemsha I think of Donald Duck's head. |

I can't find the thread, but someone posted a pic they took a few months ago of the 13' that had been commandeered by a pack of seals, I think near Rhode Island... that thing was in rough shape. |

Here's another beautiful one, like GreatBayNH's above. There's a huge difference, IMO, between a well-used-but- raggedy Boston Whaler workboat and a totally trashed-out or insultingly cutesy POS. http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b309/elaelap/portobodega007.jpg I've posted this photo here a couple of times before. Look closely before you start to complain about the boat's dings and lack of glossy wax...check out the quality of the mooring lines, the motor, the manner the crab pots are dealt with, and, most importantly, the use this old beautiful workhorse is being put to. She's earned her wrinkles, I think, more than my four or five recreational Whalers may have earned their carefully-caulked screw holes and gelcoat spiderwebbing. Tony |

Tohsgib: I like the pink carpet one, but the screws take the cake for stupidity, Why do you think they used tap-cons to hold down your console? suppose to use stainless... |

"A link to a similar thread: http://continuouswave.com/ubb/Forum1/HTML/014444.html" Trouble w referencing old threads - a lot of 404 errors, expired auctions and forbidden sites. Please keep this thread going. |
