I'm building a set of molds to make a scale model 18 Outrage c.1986 and I need some help with the console. Does anyone have access to their 18 Outrage that would like to help by supplying a few measurements? I can send you a sketch via email and basically you just fill in the blanks. Measurements only need to be accurate to within approximately 1/4 inch or so. Or, if you happen to be local to Southeast Michigan I can take the measurements myself if you so desire.

I just finished casting the hull molds a few minutes ago, so I'll be ready to make models as soon as I can get a console mold made.

Roy put me down for one of those 18's for sure.

As for the console. I have this set of dimensions I took from my 1985 22 Outrage's Standard / Montauk style Console. Does this get you what you need?

Jeff, thank you!! That is absolutely perfect. I'll let you know when models are available; it will not be long with this excellent resource to work from.

Thanks Again,

Roy

What's the skinny on the model? I'd be interested in an 80's 18ft. Outrage model. Now, if you could put a closed transom and a OMC SeaDrive on that baby, I'd be ecstatic! :)

If Roy in fact is, as I assume, the same guy whose screen name used to be 'Royboy', then I can vouch for the quality of his models. I saw one -- a classic Montauk -- in person when I visited CW member Erik Selis in Belgium a couple of years ago, and it was very nice indeed.

That's me Tony, and thank you. For some reason (I assume because I didn't post for quite a while) Royboy no longer had posting privileges.

Here's a sneak preview of the first-off hull casting:

One of the mold halves has a minor problem with some of the thin sections related to the aft gunwhales, which you may notice will be teak topsides as in the original. I think I should still be able to ship models by the end of the month or soon thereafter.

I'm working on the tooling for a standard console, and I still have to make a bender for the bow railing.
