I'm working on a scale model project and I'd like to do a better representation of the "Z" legs on the mid-1980's 18 Outrage. I beleive the same legs are found on the simlar vintage Montauk as well. I just need to know the measurement from the deck to the underside of the seat and I can develop the rest accurately enough by proportion.

I just happen to have a set a "z" legs in my home. Tom is correct on the height.

The length of the bottom of the leg is 14-7/8"

The length of the top of the leg is 16-5/8"
The strut angles back at the front 55 degrees from the bottom.

The strut angles back at the top 20 degrees.

The radius of the curve between these two angles is approximately 2".

Roy, I have an extra pair here at the house if you wanted to borrow them for measurements and details. I am at 11mile and I75 in Royal Oak.

Thanks Jeff. With Larry's excellent description I was able to make a good drawing on Autocad that I'll use to make my templates.

Make one for me too.
My 86 Guardian is upside down and level right now if you need any hull measurements? I have angle finder as well.

Thanks Towboater, but I have already completed my hull molds. I had some good photos to work from of another 18' hull that was turned over to be refurbished. I expect I'll have some complete models in the next few days.
